My kiddo was on Triumeq and had some mild side effects like headaches and trouble sleeping, but nothing serious. Just make sure to keep an eye on them and communicate with the doctor.
I hear the kidney problems can be a nightmare. Dizziness and fainting can also be scary. Make sure your kid stays hydrated and has a healthy diet to support their kidneys. If you notice any changes in urine output, get it checked.
Just remember, everyone's experience is different. Most of us need to take combinations of drugs to manage HIV anyway, so switching isn't always the end of the world. It's frustrating, sure, but it's better than ignoring serious symptoms.
It's scary looking at the list, but remember, many people don't experience any side effects. I've been lucky so far, but I check in with the doctor frequently. Keep a log of any symptoms they experience, even if they seem minor. It could make spotting the serious ones easier.
