I've been prescribed Colestid 7.5gm Flavored Packs 60's to help manage my high cholesterol and have had it for a few months now. I have my blood tests coming up, so I want to see if anyone has similar experiences and if it's been working for them. I've heard it can have some unpleasant side effects, so I'm curious to hear about how others have dealt with them. Has anyone had trouble with the taste, and if so, are there any ways to make it more palatable? What are some tips and tricks for remembering to take it daily? I'm really trying to stick to my new routine, so any helpful tips are welcome.

I can't believe how much better my cholesterol levels are since starting Colestid. It's a lifesaver, but the taste? Yuck! Mix it with something sweet to make it more bearable.

Be prepared for some gastrointestinal issues. I had constipation and a lot of gas, but my doctor said it's common. Drink lots of water and fiber to help with the side effects.

I had a super rough time with stomach pain when I first started, but it got better over time. Be patient and stay hydrated.

Has anyone tried taking it with food vs. an empty stomach? I’ve heard mixed things about it, and I'm trying to figure out what works best. Mine is working. I've now lost some weight and eating better has helped too.

I mix mine with yogurt, makes it a bit more palatable. The flavor isn't great, but it gets the job done.

I've had trouble with the taste, I tried mixing it with some fruit juice, still not the best, but it helps. Just wish there were more flavors available. Keep at it, it's worth it in the long run.

I think it's definitely weird that my doctor prescribed this for cholesterol when there are so many other medications around, not sure I can stick with it. Does anyone have any other alternatives?

If you're not taking it with enough water, you're going to have a rough time. Trust me, I learned that the hard way.

I got a rash and had to stop taking it. Turns out I was allergic. If you experience any adverse effects like that, talk to your doctor immediately. Allergies are no joke.

I've been on Colestid for a while and it's been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels. The side effects were a bit tough at first, but my doctor recommended taking it with a full glass of water and it made a big difference. Stick with it—you'll see the benefits!
