So I've been prescribed ciprofloxacin 750mg for a severe UTI infection. I've been taking the tablets for about a week now, and I've experienced some very unsettling side effects. I've noticed some skin reactions, chest pains, and a few other things. I'm worried these are symptoms of something more severe. I need to know if anyone else is having similar experiences. What should I do? My doctor is dismissive and says these are normal reactions.

I had a bad reaction to ciprofloxacin a few years ago. It was awful. I ended up in the hospital with severe skin reactions and joint pain. I was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson syndrome. It was terrifying, but I recovered. I would suggest talking to a different doctor.

That's rough. I had a bad reaction to it too. I would talk to your doctor about switching to a different antibiotic. There are other options out there.

I've had some bad side effects from antibiotics before, but nothing like what you're describing. It sounds serious. I would definitely talk to a different doctor if yours isn't taking you seriously. This stuff is more common than you think and should be taken seriously.

I've been on ciprofloxacin for a week now and I haven't had any issues. But I've heard the side effects can be pretty bad for some people. Make sure to drink lots of water and take your pills with food. It might help mitigate the side effects.
