I am wondering if anyone has tried the Gavilyte-N Flavor Pack Solution for preparing for a colonoscopy? How does the flavor pack affect the taste, and does it make the solution more palatable? I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy soon and I'm dreading the prep. Do you have any tips for getting through it? I hear the worst part is the dehydration.
I had a bad experience with it. The cleanliness of the prep process was okay, but my colon was more irritated than just drinking the solution. It felt like a waste of money. I won't buy it again.
I agree with the previous comments. The flavored version is much easier to drink. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and drink plenty of water . That being said, I'd also suggest having some sugar free gum and a toothbrush nearby to help freshen up your breath.
The flavor pack doesn't affect the efficacy, it's just there to make it taste better. I found the cherry flavor to be quite nice. I would recommend getting the flavored version so you are not drinking straight up salt water pretty much.
