I've been struggling with scalp psoriasis for years, and my doctor recently prescribed Ala-Scalp 2% Lotion. It's a hydrocortisone lotion designed to reduce redness, itching, and swelling. I've only used it for a week, and I'm not sure if I'm seeing any improvement. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, how long did it take to see results? Also, what are the common side effects, and do they go away? I want to hear about your experiences, tips, and any major concerns or warnings.

If you're gaining weight or experiencing mood changes, that could be a sign of Cushing's syndrome or a weakened adrenal gland. Definitely worth keeping an eye out for!

When I first started, I thought I'd applied too much and I had a lot of irritation. I'd love to have used less the first time, and got a better grip on how much to use by the third or fourth application. Less is more with hydrocortisone. I'm wondering if you are having issues with irritation as well.

I’ve had some pretty nasty reactions to steroids in the past, so I'm always cautious. I looked up the side effects for this and the list is long. Hopefully you don't experience any severe reactions.

I went through the ingredients list and I did not see enough information about the hydrocortisone strength necessary to reduce irritation. Check with your doctor and see if you're getting the right strength for your case.

I can't believe this stuff isn't more widely known. It's saved my scalp so many times. It's liquid gold. Use sparingly, but it works like a charm.

Did your doctor give you any tips on how to apply it effectively to the scalp? I find it difficult to reach all the spots properly.

I switched to this lotion from a prescription shampoo. It was a game-changer. I used it in combination with a gentle scalp scrub to really clear things out. The lotion helped to soothe the itching while the scrub gave me relief from build-up and dead skin cells. Just do it sparingly and watch out for the signs of side effects.
