I've been prescribed Xermelo 250mg Tablets to manage severe diarrhea associated with my carcinoid syndrome. I'm curious to hear from others who have used this medication. How effective has it been for you? What side effects have you experienced, and how did you manage? And, what are your thoughts on the tradeoffs of taking this medication? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Xermelo works by reducing serotonin levels, which helps alleviate diarrhea, but I've heard the side effects can be challenging. Has anyone had issues with the listed side effects and if so how did you handle them? Also, I'd love to hear if anyone has experience with black, tarry, or bloody stools, swelling, or other urgent symptoms. Please share your stories and advice.

I had severe constipation when I started taking Xermelo. It took me a while to figure out the right dosage for myself, but once I got to 250mg it calmed down. Don't forget to mention to your doctor if your symptoms change or get intense.

I got really bad constipation, too. I took 250mg and wondered if it was too high, but it turned out 250mg was the correct amount and the issue was something else. The doctor told me it takes time to get used to any new medication.

I haven't experienced depression, actually I feel much better now that I don't have to run to the toilet every 5 minutes. But I've heard this from others. Just for the record: tell your doctor about any changes in your mood, they can help you manage it.

I had a weird rash when I started Xermelo. Turns out it was an allergic reaction. I had to switch to a different med.

Xermelo has been a lifesaver for me. The side effects were manageable, and the relief from diarrhea was worth it. I also experienced some stomach pain initially. Make sure you take the medication with food, it helps a lot!

I had a really bad experience with this drug. The swelling in my arms and legs was terrible, and I ended up in the hospital. I had to switch to a different medication, but I hope it works out for you.

I've been on Xermelo for about 6 months now, and it's been a game-changer for my diarrhea. The side effects were a bit tough at first—mainly stomach pain and constipation—but they've eased up. I just make sure to stay hydrated and eat a fiber-rich diet. My doctor also recommended taking a stool softener which has helped a lot.

Has anyone had trouble with insurance coverage for Xermelo? It's ridiculously expensive, and I'm not sure if mine will cover it.

I had heard that Xermelo can make depression worse, is that true for anyone else? I'm a little nervous about that. I know serotonin levels are important.
