I'm so glad I found this thread. I just started Lonsurf and was feeling really alone in this. Thanks for sharing your experiences - it helps to know I'm not the only one going through this.
My mom had a couple of bad allergic reactions and had to stop taking the medication. The worst is the rashes. Trying to find something else that helps combat the cancer without the rashes.
I don't know what I would do without my support system. My family and friends have been my rock through all of this. Make sure you have people in your corner to help you through the tough days. Don't go through this alone.
I've been on this drug for 6 months. For the first 4-5 weeks I was in the hospital with a severe infection. I would have died if not for the doctors. If you notice any signs of infection, get medical attention right away.
Has anyone else had issues with mouth sores? I can't eat anything without it hurting, and it's making it hard to keep my strength up. I've tried mouth rinses, but nothing seems to help.
I lost so much hair the first few weeks, but it's slowing down now. And my taste buds are totally messed up, but I'm just happy to have an appetite. I had to use an oral rinse to keep the sores at bay and it has helped tremendously.
