Hello, fellow diabetics and caregivers! I recently started using the Humalog Jr 100u/ml Kwikpen Half Unit for managing my kids' type 1 diabetes. Key features include insulin lispro, fast-acting insulin that lowers blood sugar quickly, especially after meals. The 'Jr.' and 'Half Unit' mean this pen can deliver very small, precise doses, which has been incredibly helpful for my kids. My question is, has anyone else found this to be a life-changer or is it just another insulin? Do you have any tips or advice on using this pen effectively, or any side effects that I might need to watch out for?

If you're having trouble remembering how much insulin you gave, this pen has a cool little feature that shows the last dose taken. You don’t have to worry about using too much.

Avoid using a pen that has been frozen or overheated. I'm not happy about the price, it might be worth it but still pricey and I hate it.

Has anyone had trouble with allergic reactions? I’ve heard it’s rare but I’ve been itching near my injection site for a few days.

This stuff saved me from too much over dosage, but it still gives me the fear of needles, I only found the 4mm needles can go through the skin easily, a good tip is to store in a cool place, but don't freeze.

I’ve had some issues with low potassium levels. I’ve been monitoring it regularly and it's something I didn’t expect, so watch out for muscle cramps or weakness. Also, the Humalog Jr. pen has built in markers on the pen to help track the injection site.

I've been using it for a month now and noticed the injection sites are slightly irritated and sometimes I see redness.
