I've been prescribed Hydrocodone 80mg ER Tablets for severe, long-lasting pain, and I'm nervous about the potential side effects and risks. This medication is designed to release the medicine slowly over 24 hours, but it also has risks of addiction, overdose, and serious breathing problems. I can't risk sharing it or not taking it exactly as prescribed. I understand the side effects can range from constipation to severe issues like serotonin syndrome. Anyone have experience or tips on managing side effects or avoiding the risks?

Make sure you're keeping an eye on your blood sugar levels too. I had no idea opioids could cause that, but it's something to watch out for.

Anyone else deal with severe dizziness? I feel like I'm on a boat half the time. It's worse in the morning. Trying to figure out if it's worth the pain relief.

Be mindful of the potential for addiction. I've seen it happen to people I care about, and it's not pretty. If you're feeling like you need more than prescribed, talk to your doctor immediately.

I've been on these for a while due to chronic pain. The biggest challenge for me has been managing constipation. I've found that increasing my fiber intake and staying hydrated helps a lot. Also, talk to your doctor about stool softeners if it gets really bad. It's a tough pill to swallow, ha ha. Oh and stay away from alcohol, it can be extremely dangerous.

I've noticed some weird mood changes since starting these. One minute I'm fine, the next I'm either super irritable or super happy. It's been tough on my family. Has anyone else experienced this?

Serotonin syndrome is no joke. I ended up in the ER last year because I didn't realize a new supplement I was taking could interact with my Hydrocodone. Fever, rapid heartbeat, and hallucinations—that was aBad time. Never mix meds without checking with a doc first.

I've been on opioids for a while, and honestly, the constipation is the worst part. I've tried everything—diet changes, stool softeners, you name it. It's been a struggle, but worth it for the pain relief. Have to stay hydrated and take fiber supplements.
