I've been using Hydrocortisone Butyrate Lotion 0.1% 59ml to treat my eczema flare-ups. It's worked wonders for the redness and itching, but I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects. Has anyone else experienced any of the more serious side effects mentioned, like skin thinning or signs of high blood sugar? I'd love to hear from others who've used this lotion and their thoughts on balancing the benefits with the risks. Hearing your experiences might save me a trip to the dermatologist.

I've been using this for years and haven't had any major issues. Just some dryness, but it goes away quickly. I'd stick with it if you're seeing results.

i knew something was off when i started noticing some weird hair growth on my face. i was like, whoa, is this steroid causing my body to go into some sort of panic? I'm going to stay away from this one.

I used it for a month, but I had a lot of burning and stinging, and some tingly skin, which seemed to get worse the longer I used the lotion. It wasn't worth the discomfort for the small amount of relief I got. I'd recommend sticking to it only if it's your severe case product and considering something gentler if you find that you're not responding well. If you find it irritates the skin, then you might be better off trying another type of topical steroid or even a non-steroid cream.

I had a weird reaction to it—a rash that spread far from where I applied it. Seems weird with a topical steroid - any medically trained folks have an idea?

I used it for a really bad case of psoriasis that I had for years. It worked great but it was a crazy amount of lotion. Kind of pricey for a 59ml bottle when I was buying it for the first time. It's easier when I get it prescribed instead of over the counter.

I've had good results with this lotion, but I've also had some issues with burning and stinging, especially when I first started using it. I've found that if I apply it after a shower and on damp skin, it helps a lot with the burning. I've noticed if I use it at night, there's less drying on the skin.

I've only used it a couple of times but I found that it helped with the itching, but not so much with the redness. It might last longer for you, it might not, but I'd say it's worth a try. If it didn't work out for me, I've seen it help a lot of people.

I'm glad I found this thread. I was wondering if anyone else had issues with changes in their eyesight. I blame everything on this stuff. I've been having some trouble focusing lately and I can't shake the feeling that it might be due to this.
