I've been using Hydrophor Ointment for a couple of weeks now, and I've seen a massive improvement in my cracked, irritated skin. It's amazingly effective at locking in moisture and creating a protective barrier. However, I did have some concerns about the side effects listed in the pamphlet, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone else had any issues or near-misses with the ointment? I'd love to know if there's anything else to be aware of, or if there are any helpful tips for using it besides the obvious to apply a thin layer and reapply as needed. Thanks!

I'm glad to hear it's working for you. I've had dry skin, but it's been so very rarely ever this bad.

I've been using Hydrophor for a while now, and it's been a lifesaver for my dry, cracked hands. I never had any side effects, but I did find that applying it right before bed and wearing gloves helped lock in even more moisture. Plus, there were no side effects at all.

I had a conversation with my dermatologist about Hydrophor. I asked him about the side effects, and he reassured me that while rare, they can happen. He also mentioned that if you have any pre-existing skin conditions, it's best to consult with a doctor before using it. Always good to be cautious.

I had to stop using it because it was too thick and greasy for my liking. It felt heavy on my skin, and I didn't like the texture. Plus, it left a bit of a residue on my clothes and sheets. If you're okay with that, then it's fine.

I had a strange reaction to it, but it wasn't anything listed in the pamphlet.

This stuff is magical. I've tried everything. Give it a shot.

Great to hear it's working for you! I've had issues with skin infections in the past, so I was a bit worried about that side effect. Hoping to stay safe.

Honestly, this thread is making me nervous. I've been using it for a week and haven't noticed any issues. Should I be worried?

I think the key is to use it as directed and monitor your skin closely. If you notice any signs of infection or allergic reaction, stop using it immediately and see a doctor. Don't wait it out.
