I recently received a prescription for Hyperhep B 220u/ml Inj 1ml, which is a Hepatitis B Immune Globulin (HBIG). I'm a health care worker and was exposed to the virus through a needle stick. I'm aware that this medication provides immediate, temporary protection, but I'm curious about the experiences of others who have used it. Has anyone else had to take this medication? How did you cope with any side effects? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any long-term effects or how it compares to getting a vaccine. Additionally, I'd love some advice on what to watch out for during and after treatment. Thanks in advance for any insights!

This medicine can make you feel run down for a short time, but it's worth it for the protection. I didn't have any severe side effects, just some muscle aches and fatigue. It only lasts a few days.

I'm interested in how this compares to the Hepatitis B vaccine? I know the vaccine entails multiple doses, but it's permanent protection, right? Seems like a no-brainer to do the vaccine after the immunoglobulin.

This post is puzzling. How can a medicine that contains antibodies against a virus not be lifelong? Antibodies are lifelong, aren't they? I'd really like to know more about this.

I've had to administer this a few times at the hospital. It's crucial to monitor patients closely after the injection. Some people can have severe allergic reactions, so it's not something to take lightly.

I got this after a hospital procedure where I had a pretty nasty injury. I had some trouble breathing, but I think it was more due to the panic of it all. If you get this shot, make sure you have support around you until you know you're okay.

I got it after a family member was diagnosed with Hepatitis B. The doctor explained that it's different from a vaccine because it gives you immediate protection. It's like a quick fix but doesn't last long. They said it's important to get vaccinated after that for long-term protection.

I had to take HBIG after a similar exposure at work. The injection site was a bit sore for a few days, but nothing too bad. Definitely keep an eye out for any signs of an allergic reaction, though.

I had a baby who had to get this and it really worried me. There were no issues though. We monitored her pretty closely and she's fine now, but I do worry about long term effects.
