I recently had a minor surgery and was given an Xylocaine-Mpf 1% Inj, 10ml injection for the procedure. It was quite effective in numbing the area, but I can't stop thinking about all the potential side effects like allergic reactions, methemoglobinemia, and acidosis which are rare but pretty scary. Has anyone else had experience with this? I'm trying to decide if I should be worried or if these side effects are truly rare. The doctor mentioned reporting side effects to the FDA, which made me think that this could be a bigger deal than just temporary effects. Any insights would be appreciated.

I had a similar experience during a dental procedure. The dentist used lidocaine, and while I felt a bit dizzy afterward, it wore off quickly. Just make sure to stay calm and let your doctor know if anything feels off. They're there to help.

I've never had any side effects from lidocaine, but I always make sure to report any issues to my doctor. It's good to stay informed and take any precautions if you notice something unusual. If you're worried, just talk to your doctor and voice your concerns. They can give you the most accurate advice based on your medical history.

I've had lidocaine injections a few times and never experienced any serious side effects. The numbness wore off within a few hours, and I was fine. It's always a bit scary to think about all the potential risks, but I think it's important to trust the medical professionals who administer these drugs.

What about those other side effects like feeling cold or hot or metallic taste in your mouth? I always get a metallic taste but didn't know it was a potential side effect. If you're experiencing these, just keep an eye on them but I wouldn't stress too much. It's temporary.

I work in a dental office and have seen a few cases of allergic reactions to lidocaine. They're rare, but if you experience any swelling or difficulty breathing, call emergency services immediately. It's always better to be cautious when it comes to your health.

Methemoglobinemia isn't something to take lightly. If you notice any signs like a blue or gray color on your lips or skin, seek immediate medical attention. It can be serious, so it's better to be safe than sorry. But I wouldn't worry too much unless you actually experience these symptoms.
