I just got the Vaqta vaccine (Hepatitis A) - any side effects I should watch out for?
Hey everyone, I just got the Vaqta 1ml IM Vial vaccine for Hepatitis A. I know it's important to protect myself from this serious liver infection, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. The nurse mentioned that some people might experience headaches, fever, or even more serious symptoms like allergic reactions. Has anyone else had this vaccine? What was your experience like? I want to be prepared in case something comes up.

I had some pain and swelling at the injection site, but that was about it. It went away after a couple of days.
I had a friend who had a severe reaction. She ended up in the hospital with a high fever and dizziness. Not fun at all. Please call your doctor 911 if you feel extremely ill.
Avoid doing ANYTHING strenuous for 2 days after the vaccine. I was so weak with a fever I could barely get out of bed.
I got the Vaqta vaccine and felt like I had the flu for a day, then I was fine. Everyone is different, so just be prepared for anything.
I got the Vaqta vaccine last year and only had a mild headache for a day. No big deal, but it's always good to be cautious.
I think the side effects are generally mild, but always be aware of the more serious ones like allergic reactions. Trust me I know a lot about this and the vaccine is worth it. Safe travels!
