I just picked up a prescription of Amox-Clav 200mg/5ml Susp 50ml for my 3-year-old who has an ear infection. I've never given her antibiotics before, and I'm a bit nervous about the possible side effects. The doctor said it's common and should help clear up the infection, but I want to hear from other parents who have been through this. How did your kids react to the medication? Did you notice any side effects? I'm especially concerned about the rare but serious ones. I want to be prepared just in case. I'm glad though, that it seems to be taking care of her ear infection, and that she hasn't had any issues yet. I'll probably be giving my child this medication again if she gets another bacterial infection, as the doctor said that 3 days in, the ear infection was almost gone, and she wasn't showing any signs of side effects.

Oh no, I had no idea about the severe side effects. I gave this to my kid last month, but I didn't notice anything. Just know it can be serious, so be careful.

No problems here, but I made sure to give it with food to avoid tummy upset. Hope your little one feels better soon!

My kid had a great experience with this. No side effects and the infection cleared up quickly! Mine had a sore throat 3 days in, but it went away when we finished the prescription.

Yikes, the side effects list is scary. It sounds like it's worth it, but I'd be on the phone with the doctor if anything weird happened. It's important to keep an eye on your kid, it's scary how they can get sick quickly.

This stuff is nasty! My daughter refused to take it, she didn't want to take anything red. I didn't think it would be so difficult. Maybe a flavored one might be better?
