I've been giving my 5-year-old Icar Pediatric Grape Suspension for the past month to treat his anemia. It's been a bit of a journey, and I have a lot of questions. The medicine seems to be working, but I've noticed some side effects that I'm not sure about. I've also heard from other parents about their experiences, some good and some bad. I'm curious to know if any other parents have had similar experiences. I'm also wondering if anyone has any tips or advice on how to make the medicine go down easier. He's not a big fan of the taste, and we've had to get pretty creative to get him to take it.

Also, I've been worried about the serious side effects mentioned in the packaging. Does anyone have any experiences or insights about these? It's tough to know when to be concerned. Finally, has anyone else had issues with insurance coverage for this medication? It's been a bit of a headache for us.

Has anyone had issues with staining? My kid's teeth turned a weird color, and I'm not sure if it's from the medicine.

I had a terrible time with insurance. They kept denying it, saying it wasn't necessary. Had to fight with them for weeks. Stick to it, and you'll get there.

Be careful with mixing it with other foods. The iron can interact with certain things and reduce absorption. Always check with a doctor first.

I've been giving my daughter the same medicine. She loves the grape flavor, thank goodness. I've noticed some constipation, but the doctor said it's normal. Just keep an eye on it.

I'm glad I'm not alone. My son hates the taste, and it's been a struggle to get him to take it. Have you tried mixing it with something sweet, like apple sauce?

I've been giving my child iron supplements for years. Never had any issues, but everyone is different. Just keep an eye on things, and you'll be fine.

I'm sure everyone is monitoring their child's health, but just a reminder: if you see any signs of a severe reaction, get to the ER ASAP. It's better to be safe. I was freaking out when my kid had a slight fever, but it turned out to be nothing. Still, it was scary.
