I was prescribed Icosapent Ethyl 0.5gm capsules to help reduce my very high triglyceride levels. My doctor said it's supposed to lower the risk of heart issues too. I started taking them a week ago, and I'm already noticing some side effects like muscle pain. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience like? I'm really hoping it works, but I'm also worried about the possible side effects. I've read that it can cause allergic reactions, which is scary. I've got chest pain if I exert myself, and I can barely go up the stairs without wheezing. Is it normal to have these symptoms? Also, anyone know if the side effects go away with time? What kinds of changes did you make to your diet along with this medication? My doctor mentioned something about avoiding certain foods, but I didn’t get a clear list. TIA!

Sounds like you're dealing with a lot. Hang in there. I remember when I started I had a tough time but after a while, I got used to it.

I think dietary changes are key. I stopped eating red meat and switched to fish. I've also been eating more fruits and vegetables. Working with a nutritionist was a game-changer for me. My blood tests are a lot better now. Don’t give up, buddy.

I was on Icosapent Ethyl for a few months last year. It definitely helped lower my triglycerides, but I did experience some muscle pain and constipation. Talk to your doctor about dietary changes too—it made a huge difference for me. I cut out sugary drinks and red meat, and started eating more fish and leafy greens. It wasn’t easy at first, but now I feel much better overall.

Have you tried any supplements alongside the medication? I've heard Omega 3s can help, but I'm not sure how they interact with Icosapent Ethyl. Just a thought!

Be careful with any chest pain. That's serious stuff. Make sure to keep your doctor in the loop about any symptoms you get. For me, it was a lifesaver.

I've been on Icosapent Ethyl for about six months now. I noticed a significant drop in my triglyceride levels after a few months. The side effects were manageable—mostly just some muscle aches, but they went away after a couple of weeks. Just stick to the prescribed dose and keep an eye on your diet. Good luck!

I've been on Icosapent Ethyl for a few months now, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my triglyceride levels. The side effects were minimal for me—just a bit of constipation, which went away after a few weeks. I've also made some dietary changes, like cutting out processed foods and adding more fiber to my diet. It's definitely helped with the constipation and overall well-being. It honestly feels like a lifesaver.
