I've recently been prescribed Igalmi 120mcg SL Film to help manage agitation related to my bipolar disorder. It works by affecting certain chemicals in your brain to help you feel more relaxed. I've had a few questions and experiences I'd like to discuss. Firstly, how long does it usually take for the film to dissolve and start working? I've seen some of the potential side effects listed, like drowsiness and dizziness, but are there any lesser-known or long-term effects I should be aware of? Secondly, anyone else find it challenging to time the daily use correctly? I worry about taking it too often and building a tolerance. Lastly, what do you do if you accidentally take it on an empty stomach? I've heard mixed things about that. There's a lot of information about the urgent side effects, but what about the lesser-known ones? Has anyone else experienced numbness or tingling in the mouth? How did you manage it? I'm curious to hear others' experiences and any tips or tricks you might have. Thanks!

If you're worried about building a tolerance, talk to your doctor about it. My doctor said it's not common, but they'll adjust the dose if necessary. I think.

Igalmi works great for me, but I agree that timing can be challenging.

Really helpful info. Just got prescribed this. I'll watch out for those side effects! Thanks everyone.

My main issue with Igalmi is the taste. It's so strong! Does anyone have a funny or clever way to deal with it?

I've been on Igalmi for a few months now, and I've found it incredibly helpful. My biggest advice: make sure you take it with food if you can; I've only had side effects like drowsiness and an upset stomach when I skipped meals.

I think Igalmi has really helped me manage my agitation. I was pretty skeptical at first, but it's made a noticeable difference. Do you all find it helps with the agitation quickly?

I've been taking Igalmi for a while and I haven't built a tolerance yet. I've actually had to adjust my dose down because I found it too strong at the 120mcg dose but talk with your doctor, everyone is different.

Igalmi 120mcg SL Film is a lifesaver. I’ve had some mild side effects, but it’s worth it for how it helps with agitation. Anyone else feel like it makes them a bit drowsy? I just make sure to take it in the evening to avoid any issues with feeling alert during the day.
