So, my newborn was prescribed Ilotycin Ophth Oint 3.5gm to prevent eye infections. I applied it, and she seems to be doing fine, but I'm curious if anyone else has used this and what their experience was like. The ointment seems to be a bit messy, and I'm not sure if that's normal. The instructions say it's for treating bacterial eye infections in adults and for usage in newborns. Has anyone else had experience with this? What was your experience like? Any issues or side effects to look out for?

I used this on my newborn as well, and it worked great! Just be careful not to get any in their eyes too much, as it can be a bit irritating. No issues here, though.

I used this for my newborn, and it seemed to work fine. I was worried about the ''severe and potentially life-threatening side effects,'' but I guess it was fine in the end. I used to worry about allergies, but no issues. I just hope no one else has this issue. I think the ointment is just a bit messy, though. I'm not worried about side effects. If it works, it works.

I work in a pediatric clinic, and we use this all the time for newborns. It's generally safe and effective, but keep an eye out for any signs of an allergic reaction.

I used this for conjunctivitis, and it worked great. No side effects at all. I think the instructions say not to get any in the eyes, but how do we apply it? I can see why people might be worried about allergies, but it worked for me.

This stuff is messy, but it does the job. Just make sure to clean the area around the eye before applying it. And be careful not to touch the tip of the tube to anything.

My daughter had to use this for an eye infection, and it worked really well. She had a little bit of irritation, but it went away after a few days. Stick with it, mom!

I had to use this for a corneal ulcer, and it did the trick. It was a bit irritating at first, but it was worth it to get rid of the infection. No issues here. No allergies to report!

I had to use this for a stye, and it really helped. I think I might have had a bit of an allergic reaction, though, because my eye got really red and itchy. I had to stop using it.
