I'm looking for insights on Vancomycin 10gm Inj, 1 Vial. I've been prescribed this powerful antibiotic for a serious infection, and I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the life-threatening ones. I want to be prepared and know what to look out for. Has anyone had any serious side effects? How did you handle them? What should I be most concerned about? I've been reading about the symptoms of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis and it is terrifying. I'm hoping to hear from people who have had good experiences too. The main thing that I'm concerned about is the flu like symptoms if it is administered too quickly. I have had flu like symptoms, from COVID, before. So you are basically telling me I am going to get the flu again, but with a much greater intensity? Any experiences welcome!

I was put on Vancomycin for MRSA, and it was a nightmare. My veins felt like they were on fire. But it worked, and the infection cleared up. I have to say, I'm glad I did it.

I had a serious reaction to Vancomycin when it was administered too quickly. I felt like I couldn't breathe, and my heart was racing. I always joke now, Vancomycin is the most terrifying antibiotic! Vancomycin is an antibiotic that you should only take for severe infections.

I once had this medication leak from my vein, and it was not a pleasant experience. Redness, pain, and swelling were the least of my issues. I never had a good experience with this medication and I have had multiple IVs

If you're worried about kidney problems, monitor your urine output and watch for any blood. If you experience any changes, talk to your doctor. If you have kidney stones, ask your doctor if you should abstain from taking this medication. I was given other antibiotics when I had a severe infection, and I didn't realize there were some serious side effects to taking Vancomycin.

I've had Vancomycin before, and it was really tough. I experienced a severe rash and had to stop using it. The doctor advised me to just use a topical ointment on my face, but it didn't help much. If you notice any signs of an allergic reaction, contact your doctor immediately.

I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but I didn't experience any severe side effects. Just some minor stomach issues. This is a serious topic. I am sorry to hear that you are considering taking this medication. Make sure you seriously consider the benefits of taking this medication, because the chances are, it will not be a very pleasant experience. I wish you luck and hope you get better!

I've never had any severe side effects. I did experience some stomach pain and vomiting. Make sure you keep your doctor informed. You can also report any issues to the FDA if your doctor doesn't seem concerned

Make sure you tell your nurse immediately if you experience any pain or swelling at the injection site. You need to be proactive to avoid tissue damage. If you feel the pain at the injection site, it is probably not the medication that was administered too quickly. It is probably the intravenous line that has come out so you should immediately notify your nurse. If you feel dizzy, faint, or experience shortness of breath, it is probably the medication that was administered too quickly. If you experience pain at the injection site, it is probably the intravenous line that has come out and you should immediately notify your nurse.
