I was just prescribed Invega Sustenna 234mg/1.5ml Inj for my schizoaffective disorder. I had been on oral antipsychotics for a while, but my doctor switched me to this injectable. It's supposed to be given once a month after two initial doses a week apart. I'm nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, any tips you might have, or even just some encouragement. Thanks in advance!

I'm really nervous about the potential side effects. Anyone have tips on how to manage anxiety related to starting a new medication?

I've been on Invega Sustenna for about 6 months now. It's been a game-changer for me. I had some initial side effects like dizziness and weight gain, but they've mostly subsided. I'd say it's worth giving it a shot if your doctor thinks it's right for you.

Has anyone else had issues with weight gain? I've gained about 10 pounds in the last two months, and it's starting to worry me.

I had some injection site reactions at first, but they went away after a few doses. Just make sure you're not moving around too much after the injection.

I had a really bad reaction to it. I experienced some of the urgent side effects like severe dizziness and changes in mood. I had to stop taking it. Everyone's different, so I'd be careful.

I've been on it for a year, and it's helped stabilize my symptoms. Just make sure you're monitoring your blood sugar levels! The meds have a reputation for causing metabolic complications.

I'm glad you're being proactive about your treatment. Just remember to communicate openly with your doctor about any concerns or side effects you experience.

I've been on it for a while and honestly, the injection isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's more convenient than taking pills daily. Just make sure you go to a professional for the injections.

I switched to Invega Sustenna from oral Abilify, and I noticed a huge difference in my energy levels. I feel much more stable now. Just be patient with the initial adjustment period.
