Irbesartan 75mg Tablets: My Experience and Suggestions for Managing Side Effects
I was recently prescribed Irbesartan 75mg Tablets for high blood pressure. It's been a few months now, and I've had a bit of a mixed experience. Initially, I was excited to find a medication that seemed to work well for me, but I've encountered some side effects that I wasn't expecting. Irbesartan is known to cause dizziness, which can be quite debilitating, especially when it comes to driving or operating machinery. However, what surprised me the most was how severe the side effects can get. I noticed that my vision was getting blurry (which isn't mentioned in the leaflet at all) and I started to feel really nauseous. I've never experienced anything like this before. The dizziness was manageable, but the other symptoms really made me question whether I should continue with this medication. I kept my doctor in the loop and they said they've had other patients report similar side effects, but they're pretty rare, so it's worth staying on it. I'm just trying to stick it out and hope it gets better. I've heard some people have had great success with Irbesartan, so I'm hoping I'm just in that unlucky minority. If anyone else has had similar experiences or any tips for managing these side effects, I'd love to hear from you!

How often are you experiencing these side effects? Once a day, or more? My side effects were daily for the first week, but then it got significantly better.
Have you tried taking it at night? That helped me a lot with the dizziness. Also, staying hydrated and eating a balanced diet can make a big difference.
It's a shame that this is what they had available in your area. I'm in a different country and you can get a lot of different types of medications, so you don't have to experiences these side effects.
I've been on Irbesartan for a year now, and it's been great for my blood pressure. I haven't experienced any of those side effects you mentioned, but I do feel a bit dizzy sometimes. Just take it easy when you first start and see if it gets better.
I had a similar experience, but I found that taking the medication with food helped reduce the side effects. It might be worth a try if you're still struggling.
I had the same issue when I started taking Irbesartan. One of the medic had told me that if you start drinking green tea (with some lemon) in the morning, side effects will vanish. I am inclined to think that he was joking, but it worked, and it's been 4 years now.
Dizziness is annoying, but be careful, there are more serious side effects listed on the label. If you ever experience any of the more serious ones (like severe dizziness, fainting, or kidney issues), you need to get medical help fast! I had a friend who ignored the symptoms and it ended up being really bad. Just be safe and keep an eye on things.
You must be having a good doctor, they rarely prescribe this drug since it's a bit old, and there are many better options on the market, and safer ones too.
