I've been prescribed Sod Fluoride 5000 1.1% Paste/fruit by my dentist to help prevent cavities, but I'm a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else used this and had any issues? I've read about possible allergic reactions and stomach issues, which are pretty scary. The doctor said to use it once a day at bedtime, but I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. Has anyone had a good experience with this?

I've been using it for a few months now, and it hasn't done anything bad. Tooth enamel looks stronger, and I haven’t spotted any side effects. The high fluoride content is worth it because it's doing the job.

Side effects are no joke. I had a friend who ended up in the ER with a severe allergic reaction. It was a terrifying experience. I would suggest getting a second opinion or trying something else.

I've heard that the fluoride content is so high, it can actually stain your teeth. I'm not sure if it's worth the risk and the bother to keep on using it.

If anyone has concerns, consider using less frequently, like every other day. If you experience any side effects, even minor ones, talk to your dentist immediately. The alternative is always there, but compromising your oral health isn’t worth it.

It’s a bit scary to read about the potential side effects, but I think it’s worth it. My kids have been using it for a few months, and it’s definitely seemed to help with their cavities. I guess it depends on how bad the cavities are and how much risk you’re willing to take.

I switched to a different fluoride treatment after experiencing heightened sensitivity in my teeth. My dentist recommended fluoide varnish that can be applied at the dental office for a more controlled dose.

Just stick to regular toothpaste. Why take the risk with something so strong?

I started brushing with regular toothpaste every day and using this once a week before bed. I actually have noticed fewer cavities. I think it works well when used sparingly. It’s definitely a good preventive measure, and it seems to be safe if you don’t overuse it.

I got severe stomach pain when I used it, but I was brushing with it after every meal and not just at night, as was recommended. Think the frequency of my brushing was too much. If you’re going to use it, follow your dentist’s instructions carefully.

I used it for a while, but my mouth started feeling really dry and I had some irritation that I think was from the fluoride. I talked to my dentist and they suggested switching to a lower-concentration fluoride toothpaste. I’ve not had any issues since then, and my teeth are still in good shape. It’s important to listen to your body and consult with a healthcare professional.
