I've been using Sore Throat 1.4% Spray Cherry for the past few days to numb the pain from a severe sore throat. The spray does provide temporary relief, but I'm curious if it's really killing the germs, or just making the throat feel less sensitive? The product description mentions that it has phenol, which kills germs. Does anyone confirm that the spray actually treats the infection, or does it just provide symptom relief? Any insights or experiences are appreciated! The spray also mentions possible side effects like rash, hives, or swelling. Has anyone experienced any of these? How did you deal with it? What steps did you take?

I would be cautious with this spray. The side effects seem pretty scary. If you experience any severe symptoms, go to the ER immediately. I would rather deal with the pain than risk an allergic reaction.

I’ve used this spray a few times and it does seem to help with the pain. However, I’m not sure about the germ-killing part. I’ve had some mouth tingling, but it went away quickly.

I got a rash and had to stop using it. Definitely worth a call to the doctor if you experience any side effects. I'd avoid this spray unless you trust it wont cause you issues.

It's a good quick fix, but definitely not a long-term solution. I would recommend using it sparingly and seeing a doctor if your symptoms get worse.

The spray worked for me, but I noticed a slight tingling sensation in my mouth. It didn't bother me too much, though. I think it's worth it for the relief.

I read the ingredients list and saw that it contains phenol. I can see how that could kill some germs, but I'm not convinced it's enough to completely treat an infection. It should still make your throat feel less sensitive. It's supposed to numb the throat, making it feel less sensitive. But that's not the same as treating the underlying cause. I think it's a placebo effect and the product is just masking the symptoms. I think it's worth it to use, but only in combination with antibiotics or other treatment methods.

I think it’s important to use this spray as a temporary solution. If your sore throat persists for more than a few days, you should definitely see a doctor. I used it for a couple of days and it helped, but then I had to go to the doctor for antibiotics.

I've used this spray before and it definitely numbs the pain. No idea about the germs. However, it gave me a tingling sensation in my mouth.
