Hey everyone, I've been dealing with severe eczema for a while now and my dermatologist prescribed me Triamcinolone 0.1% Ointment. I've read about the possible side effects and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else used this and if so, what was your experience? Were the side effects really as bad as they sound in the description? I’m particularly concerned about the possibility of skin thinning and other severe reactions listed in the urgent side effects section. Any advice or insights would be appreciated! Thanks!

Did you ask your doctor about any alternative treatments? Sometimes topical steroids can be replaced by other meds that might have milder side effects.

I'm a pharmacist and I can tell you the side effects listed are rare but can happen. Always good to be cautious and keep an eye out for any allergic reactions. If you're worried, consider speaking with your doctor about applying less frequently.

I had a similar experience with triamcinolone. The redness and swelling went down in a few days. I didn’t experience any of the serious side effects mentioned, but I did have some itching initially.

If you’re worried about side effects, maybe ask your doctor about using a milder corticosteroid. Sometimes less potent ones can work just as well but with fewer risks.

I used this for my psoriasis and it worked wonders. No serious side effects, just a bit of dryness at first.

I was prescribed this for a bad rash and while it worked well, I couldn't shake the feeling of dry skin. I had to moisturize a lot more than usual.

I’ve had good results with Triamcinolone for eczema. Just make sure to apply a thin layer and wash your hands after. Always use it exactly as prescribed.

I used it for a while and it helped with the eczema but my skin did thin out. Be careful and check for signs of thinning. It should be used as a short treatment, not a long term thing.

I had a bad itching spell and the dryness was too much for me. I had to stop using it after a few days.

Side effects can vary, but I never had any major issues. I found that keeping the area moisturized really helped with any dryness I experienced.
