I've been taking Isradipine 5mg Capsules for about six months now to manage my high blood pressure. Overall, it's been effective, but I've experienced some side effects that have been a bit challenging. Initially, I had some dizziness and fatigue, but those symptoms subsided after a few weeks. However, I've recently started feeling some flushing and an occasional headache. I've read that these can be common side effects, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues and if there are any tips for managing them. I've also noticed that Isradipine seems to cause swelling in my ankles. I've tried elevating my feet and wearing compression socks, but it hasn't made much of a difference. Has anyone else dealt with this, and if so, what worked for you? I'm considering talking to my doctor about switching medications or trying a different dose, but I'm hesitant to make changes at this point. The dizziness can be especially scary - has anyone found a way to manage?

I think the swelling could be due to water retention. Have you tried reducing your salt intake? It helped me a lot.

I've had severe hives and itching. I had to stop taking it and go to the ER. Be careful and monitor closely.

I had to switch to a different medication because of the side effects. My doctor put me on Lisinopril and it's been a lot better. It's worth having a conversation with your doctor if the side effects are too much to handle.

I had severe dizziness when I first started taking Isradipine, but it went away after a few weeks. I found that staying hydrated and eating small, frequent meals helped a lot. Definitely talk to your doctor about the ankle swelling, though, as it could be a sign of something else.

I've been on Isradipine for a year and have had similar issues with dizziness and fatigue. It's improved over time, but the flushing is still there. My doctor suggested wearing layers so I can adjust to temperature changes easily. It's definitely a tradeoff, but worth it for the blood pressure control.

I've been lucky to only experience mild headaches from Isradipine. I've managed it with over-the-counter pain relievers. Just make sure to stay hydrated and get enough rest.

I wish I could say try this special exercise or technique but I still haven't figured out how to avoid the dizziness. If I find anything out, I'll be sure to share.

I've got to say, this thread is both encouraging and scary. My doc just prescribed this to me and I'm a mix of scared and relieved to hear others dealing with the same frustrations.

I've found it really helps to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position - that way you avoid a lot of the dizziness! I've learned to embrace the slow start to my day.

Does anyone else feel like the flushing is worse in warmer weather? I'm dying in these summer days.
