I've been diagnosed with gout and my doctor prescribed Colchicine 0.6mg Tablets to treat and prevent future attacks. I've read that it can have some serious side effects, such as allergic reactions, muscle problems, and low blood cell counts. I'm a bit nervous about starting this medication. Has anyone else taken Colchicine? What was your experience like? Were the side effects manageable, or did you experience anything serious? Also, how effective was it in preventing gout attacks? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! I want to make sure I'm well-informed before I start taking it.

I've been on Colchicine for a few months now. It's been pretty effective in preventing gout attacks, but I did experience some stomach issues at first. Just some mild diarrhea and upset stomach. My doctor told me to take it with food, and that helped a lot. I haven't had any of the serious side effects, but I'm glad I'm aware of them. Just make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your body.

I had a really bad experience with Colchicine. I started getting numbness in my hands and feet, and my doctor had to take me off it immediately. It was scary, but I'm glad I caught it early. Just be cautious and if you notice anything weird, go to the doctor right away.

God bless this thread. I hate the idea of taking another pill, but gout is no joke. My mom has FMF and she’s been on Colchicine for years. She had some diarrhea and nausea at first, but it settled down. She says it's a lifesaver. Just keep an eye on those side effects, folks.

Colchicine is great for controlling FMF. It helped get my flare-ups under control. I tried it as a gout treatment for a while, but my doctor recommended another gout medication which was more effective in my case. Just be mindful of possible side effects like diarrhea and stomach pain, but overall it's a reliable medication. So far, no serious side effects for me.

I take Colchicine for Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF), and it's been a lifesaver. It really helps with the inflammation. As for side effects, I've only had mild stomach issues, which are manageable. Just make sure to start with a lower dose and gradually increase it to see how your body reacts.

I had a crazy reaction. I got a rash and my tongue started swelling. I went to the ER, and they told me it was an allergic reaction to Colchicine. Scary stuff, but I'm glad I went right away. Just be safe and keep an eye out for those symptoms.

I took Colchicine for gout and had no problems at all. I didn't have nausea or stomach pain. But I will say, be super careful. It doesn't mix well with other meds. I had to stop taking some other stuff because of interactions. Talk to your doc about all your meds, not just the Colchicine. It's worth it to stay safe.
