I recently had a visit with my doctor for a persistent yeast infection and started taking Fluconazole/sodium Chlor Inj, 50ml, which is a generic for Diflucan. I've been suffering from it for a couple of weeks now. I researched online and found out that it is an antifungal drug. I'm curious to know if anyone has taken this medication before and what are the possible side effects. Is it effective for most people? Also, I've read that there are some serious side effects. What should I be watching out for? Any tips on managing the side effects would be helpful!

I'm scared of the side effects, especially the potentially life-threatening ones. I wish there were more natural remedies for yeast infections.

Don't forget to avoid alcohol while taking Fluconazole! It can increase the risk of side effects. I made that mistake once, and I won't do it again. Trust me. I had a severe pounding headache the whole night and woke up feeling nauseous. I'll stick to soda water with a twist of lime from now on

I had a weird taste in my mouth the whole time I was on this medication. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely noticeable. Just a heads-up! I thought it was nasty at first because it reminded me of blood added to urine. But then I realized that was just my brain. It was more subtle than that. I almost looked up side effects of blood in urine. Seemed a bit odd to me.

You should really watch out for signs of liver problems. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital because of that. Make sure to monitor your urine and stool colors, and if you notice anything unusual, contact your doctor right away. Also, keep track of any mood changes or extreme fatigue, as those can be signs of a weak adrenal gland.

I've had to take this a few times and it's always worked for me. The side effects aren't fun, but they're manageable. Just make sure to take it with food to avoid stomach upset. And definitely talk to your doctor if you experience any severe symptoms. I had to have another blood test once and it turns out I had developed hepatitis.
