I was prescribed Infumorph (morphine) for severe, long-lasting pain. It's given directly into the spinal fluid. I know it's a strong opioid, so I'm scared of the side effects. Has anyone else taken this? What should I watch out for? I've heard horror stories about opioids. Is the risk really that high with spinal injections?

I've been on Infumorph for a while now. It's helped with my pain, but the side effects are harsh. Definitely monitor yourself closely. I've had issues with dizziness and constipation, but nothing as scary as some of the urgent ones. Your doctor should be able to help you manage them.

Wow, that sounds rough. How often do you need to get the injection?

Be careful with the spinal injections. I know someone who had a bad reaction and ended up in the hospital. Make sure you're in a safe place for a while after the injection, just to be on the safe side.

I've always had a bit of anxiety about opioid painkillers. If it's prescribed, it's because your doctor thinks the benefits outweigh the risks. Make sure to report any side effects immediately.

I've done some research on Infumorph. The most important thing is to be aware of the urgent side effects. If you experience any of those, get help right away. It's better to be safe.
