I've been prescribed Lamivudine 100mg Tablets for chronic Hepatitis B. What should I expect? Any side effects?
I've just been prescribed Lamivudine 100mg Tablets to treat my chronic Hepatitis B. My doctor explained that it works by stopping the virus from multiplying, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. My research showed there are a lot of them. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience like? I'm hoping to hear from people who have taken it and can share some insights. I'm especially curious about any long-term effects or if there are any lifestyle changes I should make while on this medication. Thanks in advance for any help!

I had a pretty bad reaction to it. Ended up with severe allergic reactions and stomach pain. Had to stop taking them. Be prepared for the worst-case scenario and keep your doctor in the loop.
I feel bad for the really bad reactions but it sounds like it works for a lot of people. Good luck!
I’ve had to deal with a lot of stomach issues. No surprise there. But my doctor said that it’s more likely to be the virus and not the medication. I guess I’m just not surprised but we’re all different.
I appreciate the responses so far, but I've also read about some serious side effects like lactic acidosis and pancreatitis. How common are these, and what should I do if I experience any of these symptoms? Are these rare?
I'm curious if anyone has experienced depression while on this medication. It's listed as a possible side effect, but I haven't seen anyone mention it yet.
It's also worth noting that everyone's experience with medication can be different. What works for one person might not work for another. It's important to stay in close contact with your healthcare provider and report any side effects, no matter how small they may seem. If you’re not sure whether what you are experiencing is a symptom of the virus or the medication, ask. They are there to help.
Lactic acidosis is rare but serious. Symptoms include fast breathing, feeling very tired or weak, and muscle pain. If you experience any of these, seek medical attention immediately. As for pancreatitis, symptoms include severe stomach and back pain. It's crucial to stay vigilant and report any unusual symptoms to your doctor.
