I'm new to this medication and I want to learn more about the possible side effects and how to manage them. I've heard that it should be taken with food, but I'm not sure why or what to expect. I've also read about some urgent side effects that seem quite scary. Can anyone share their experiences or advice? Also, any tips for what to do if I encounter any of these side effects? I've been prescribed Lurasidone 40mg Tablets for bipolar depression. What should I expect?

I've been on Lurasidone for a year now, and it's been a lifesaver. BUT it's important to take it with food and at the same time each day. I started with 20mg but my doctor gradually increased to 40mg. I did have some issues with weight gain, like 15 lbs. But I'm stable and that's what matters. I'm just glad I found a medication that works for me. You will too.

Definitely don't skip meals when taking this medication. It can cause some serious issues if you do. I've heard some people experience a lot of anxiety or feeling jittery when they first start taking Lurasidone.

I had a bad reaction to Lurasidone, I developed tardive dyskinesia and it was scary. It started with some small uncontrolled movements and ended up causing me a lot of pain. I was hospitalized and it got better with stopping the medication and taking some other drugs.

I think the best thing you can do is talk to your doctor about any side effects you experience. They can help you manage them and make sure you're taking the right dose. I've been on Lurasidone for a while and it's helped me a lot. I had some issues with weight gain but I'm doing better now. I've also heard that some people have trouble taking Lurasidone because of the side effects and some doctors won't prescribe it. Don't let that get you down. There are other medications that can help.

I hope you find some relief from Lurasidone. I've been on it for a while and it's helped me so much that I can finally go to work and school for a whole day. I don't want to scare you but I had an allergic reaction once and ended up going to the hospital after my face started swelling. Be careful though and good luck!

If you start experiencing any of the urgent side effects, don't wait, go to the ER immediately. You can't take risks with these things. I'm serious if you experience any of the symptoms of neuroleptic malignant syndrome call 911.
