I've recently been diagnosed with COPD, and my doctor prescribed Striverdi Respimat Inh 60 Puffs 4gm. I understand it's used to help open up the airways, making it easier to breathe, and it's meant to be used once a day, however, I don't know much about it. The list of side effects is pretty long, and I've heard some of them can be pretty severe. I'm looking for some info from people who've used it, or anyone who can provide some insight. Most importantly, I'm trying to understand if it's normal for there to be a burning sensation in the throat after using the inhaler. Additionally, are there any common side effects that people experience with this medication, as well as any tips or tricks for using it? What precautions should I be taking when starting this medication? My doctor was great, but I'm sure there are practical tips that come from real-world use.

I've been using Striverdi Respimat for about a year now, and it's been a game-changer for my COPD. The burning sensation in your throat is normal for the first few weeks. The throat irritations should diminish with time. Make sure to rinse your mouth after using it to prevent any irritation in the mouth or throat. I use a spacer as well, which helps deliver the medication more effectively. Just be careful not to get any of the medication in your eyes, as it can sting quite a bit.

This thread is getting me down. What's the point of taking it if it's just going to make you dizzy, give you back pain and joint pain?

I wish they would've told me about the high blood pressure symptoms earlier. I had no idea that severe headaches and dizziness could be from the inhaler! I ended up in the ER thinking I was having a stroke. But it turned out it was just the inhaler. I suspect I'm lucky that I didn't have any other symptoms because the ER doctor was pretty concerned.

Just curious, has anyone experienced a fruity smell coming from their breath after using this? It's weird and I can't figure out if I'm imagining it, or if this is a side effect. I have no idea if it's a sign of high blood sugar or not

I use this inhaler and it's really helped with my COPD symptoms. I know the potential allergic reaction symptoms can be scary but I haven't had any issues. Has anyone else had the same experience? Befor using it I was concerned about the potential side effects and it is easy to feel overwhelmed when you look at the list, but I feel like I have some control over the situation using this medication.

I had a really bad reaction to this stuff. I started having muscle cramps and weakness, and I thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out it was just low potassium levels from the inhaler. I had to stop taking it. Just be careful and watch out for any unusual symptoms.

Just a heads-up, this inhaler can cause some pretty severe breathing problems right after you take it. If you ever feel like you can't breathe, use your rescue inhaler and get to a doctor right away.

The thing that worries me the most is the potential for high blood sugar. I already have diabetes, and the last thing I need is for my blood sugar to spike even higher. Has anyone else with diabetes had any issues with this?

I’ve been using it for a few months now, and it really does help. The most noticeable side effect for me was the dizziness, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Make sure to take it at the same time every day; consistency is key with this one. Also, keep your inhaler clean; it’s a bit fiddly, but it’s worth it. I was worried because my doctor didn't explain the usage in detail, I found a video online that helped.
