Just been prescribed Maxalt 5mg Tablets for migraines. What's the deal with this medication?
I've just been prescribed Maxalt 5mg Tablets by my doctor to treat my migraines. The description says it's supposed to help with headache pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound. This sounds great, but I've also read about some nasty side effects that can happen. Has anyone else used this? What was your experience? I'd love to know what to expect.

I had a bad experience with it. I got some really intense chest tightness and had to go to the ER. Scary stuff. I'd be careful.
Maxalt worked for me for a while, but then I started getting rebound headaches. My doc switched me to something else and it's been better.
Maxalt was a lifesaver for me. I could finally function normally during a migraine. Definitely worth a try.
I had no idea about the side effects. I guess I'll be talking to my doctor about this. Thanks for the heads-up.
I've used Maxalt for years. It works great for me and I've never had any serious side effects. Just make sure you take it as soon as you feel a migraine coming on.
I think it's important to note that everyone's body reacts differently to medications. Just because someone had a bad reaction doesn't mean you will. But definitely be cautious and talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.
Do you have any other medications you're taking? Some drugs can interact with Maxalt.
I've had no issues with Maxalt but keep in mind, the side effects are rare but real. If you start feeling weird, don't wait it out, go to the hospital. Better safe than sorry.
I switched to a different migraine medication because of the side effects. It's a personal choice and I'm glad I tried something different.
