I was given Readi-Cat 2 by my doctor before having a CT scan. I was told it would make my intestines more visible but this stuff tastes like chalk with a bit of vanilla. It's really hard to get down. Then I got to the scan and my stomach was gurgling the whole time. Did anyone else experience this? I'm just worried that this is normal or if I should mention this to my doctor.

I just drank mine and I'm feeling fine. Just go with the gurgling feeling -- it's a good sign that it's working

Had to take this for a scan last week. I felt fine after drinking it, but I guess it depends on the individual. I think the side effects are rare and I didn't have any issues.

Don't forget to report any side effects to the FDA. They keep a database and it helps other people who might be taking the same treatment.

I usually mix it with something sweet like apple juice to mask the taste. It's not great, but it makes it more bearable. The gurgling is normal, don't worry.

I had severe constipation after drinking this. I mentioned it to my doctor and they said it can happen. Just make sure you stay hydrated and move around a bit. It should pass. I felt much better after a few days but it worried me at first since it's not a common side effect. I didn't know if I should go to the ER or not

I was prescribed Readi-Cat 2 for an X-ray and it was nasty. I talked to my radiologist and they said that it was the best option for the scan I needed. There are other types of contrast, but they aren't as effective. You can ask your doctor if there are any alternatives, but I don't think you will like them as they taste worse.

This is the second time I've been given Readi-Cat 2. The first time I had a lot of stomach cramps and the doctor told me it was normal but I've been looking it up and felt like it was really alarming.
