Just got a Lidocaine 1% Injection for a procedure - anyone have experience with this?
I'm scheduled for a minor procedure tomorrow and my doctor prescribed Lidocaine 1% Inj, 20ml for numbing. I've read about the side effects and I'm a bit worried. Has anyone else had this before? How was your experience? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything important. Thanks in advance!

The metallic taste is the worst part. But otherwise, it’s fine. Just make sure you’re monitored after the injection.
I've had it a few times for various things. Never had any major issues, just a bit of numbness that wore off quickly. Good luck with your procedure!
I had a bad reaction to it once. Started feeling dizzy and my heartbeat was off. Make sure you're in a safe place afterwards.
I had Lidocaine for a dental procedure. It worked like a charm, no issues at all. Just make sure you communicate with your doctor about any concerns.
I’m a nurse, and I’ve seen a few people have issues with Lidocaine. Just stay calm and let your doctor know if something feels off. They’re there to help!
I had it for a procedure on my spine and I ended up with some bladder control issues for a while. Definitely an unusual side effect, but it happened.
Make sure you report any side effects to the FDA. It helps them track issues with medications.
Lidocaine is generally safe but be aware of the signs of an allergic reaction. If you start feeling weird, don't hesitate to call your doctor.
I had a scary reaction to Lidocaine once. I started seeing blue skin on my lips and fingers. I went to the hospital immediately and they told me it was from a condition called methemoglobinemia. It’s rare but serious.
Feel better soon! And yes, Lidocaine is great for numbing, just be cautious and aware of the possible side effects.
