I'm scheduled for a minor surgery next week and my doctor prescribed Sensorcaine-Mpf 0.5% Inj, 10ml. It's a local anesthetic used to numb the area. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the urgent ones listed. Has anyone had experience with this? What should I expect during and after the procedure? How can I best prepare?

The numbing part is great but be aware that you might feel a bit strange afterwards. Just take it easy and listen to your body for a few hours. Oh, and don’t drive or operate heavy machinery.

I got Sensorcaine for a dental procedure and it was a dream. Zero pain during the procedure. The only side effect I had was a bit of a metallic taste in my mouth, but it went away quickly.

Just a heads up, the injection itself can be a bit uncomfortable. It’s quick, but it stings a little. Try to relax and breathe through it. Trust me, it’s worth it to not feel any pain during the surgery.

I had a friend who had trouble breathing after getting Sensorcaine. She had to go to the ER, but she was okay afterwards. Just be cautious and keep an eye out for any symptoms that seem out of the ordinary.

I had a really bad reaction to this—methemoglobinemia. My skin turned grayish, and I felt so weak. I had to be hospitalized. It was a nightmare. Just be super cautious and tell your doctor immediately if you feel anything off.

Sensorcaine is a strong local anesthetic. It’s really important to report any unusual symptoms like rash, hives, or severe headache immediately. Your doctor should monitor you closely. The side effects can be scary, but they’re rare, so try not to worry too much.

Sensorcaine can affect everyone differently. Make sure to stay hydrated and rest after the procedure. Give your body time to recover from the anesthesia.
