Just got IV treatment with Sodium Chloride 2.5meq/ml (20ml). Anyone else had this and experienced side effects?
I recently received an IV treatment with Sodium Chloride 2.5meq/ml (20ml) solution to correct dangerously low sodium levels. I was worried about the possible side effects because I had heard about some pretty scary ones. Turns out, I felt okay afterwards, but I'm curious if anyone else has had any issues. The doctor said there are urgent side effects and other possible ones, but I didn't experience any of them. I'm just wondering if there are any long-term effects or if I'm in the clear? I've heard some people get unexpected symptoms days later, but maybe I'm being paranoid. Speaking of which I never experienced shortness of breath, chest pain, or any of the severe symptoms listed, but I'm really curious to know if anyone else has.

I was worried about this too, but my nurse said it's rare to have serious side effects. Just keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms.
This is a really concentrated solution. They normally use it when you need to boost your sodium levels ASAP!
I've had this before and it was a nightmare. I had severe cramps and muscle pain. Make sure you're monitored closely!
I had a similar experience and felt fine afterwards. But my doctor told me that it's important to stay hydrated and monitor any changes.
I had this IV treatment and felt a bit dizzy afterwards. The nurse said it was a common side effect, but I should monitor it. It went away after a couple of hours, though.
I’m glad you’re feeling okay, but it’s true that some side effects can take time to show up. Contact your doctor right away if you experience any unusual symptoms, even if it’s been a few days.
What did the doctor say about long-term effects? I've heard mixed things about it
This stuff is serious business. I had a friend who got really sick from it. Keep a close eye on yourself.
And don't forget to talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns about side effects. They're there to help!
It's so important to report any side effects to your doctor. You can also report them to the FDA if you're concerned. I've done it before and it's worth it for the next person.
