I just got my 4 year old vaccinated with Moderna Covid-19 Bivalent Vaccine for 3-5 year olds (dark pink cap). I was really nervous about the whole process. I looked up the common side effects and when I saw they could be as simple as a headache or upset stomach, I felt relieved. The nurse was super helpful and told me to expect a sore arm at the injection site, which was true. There was also some redness, but it was gone in a day or so. The only other thing my kid complained about was a fever and chills but it only lasted a few hours. I have to say, it was way less scary than the media makes it out to be. Has anyone else's kids had different side effects? I want to hear others' experiences!

Thanks for sharing! This is super helpful. I've been on the fence about vaccination but it makes me feel better to hear other parents' experiences.

My daughter had a really bad reaction to the shot. She had a fever of 103 and was completely unconsolable for hours. It was scary, but the doctor said it was a normal reaction and she should be fine. We just have to monitor her for the next few days.

It's a tough decision for sure, but I think it's important we do what we can to protect our kids and others. I work in a hospital and have seen firsthand how bad this virus can be for kids, too. It's not just about protecting the adults. I've had a few friends who had to have their kids admitted into the hospital due to COVID and want to prevent it for my kids if I can, but I'll be honest, I was scared to have them get vaccinated. Just try to think of it as the lesser of two evils.

My kid was really sleepy after the shot, but that was about it. No big deal. Just made sure they drank lots of fluids and took it easy for the rest of the day.

I just saw a news report about parents who wanted to get their kids vaccinated but were having issues finding a place that stocks the vaccine. Sounds like your biggest hurdle was the fear of the vaccine, but sounds like you were lucky your area was stocked.

My son is scared of needles and I was dreading the appointment. My pediatrician was great about talking to him about shots and he actually did pretty well.

Glad to hear your kiddo is doing well! My little one had a bit more of a reaction, unfortunately. Fever, chills, and was pretty irritable for about a day. But, doc said it's normal and should pass. Just keeping an eye on them. It's good to know others are going through the same thing.

Just got back from the vaccine clinic and my little one really did well. I looked up the instructions and had her wear a favorite shirt and brought her favorite toy. I used a topical numbing cream before the shot and she was no worse for wear. I was worried for no reason! Really glad we did this, though. We got the pink cap Moderna for 3-5 year olds.
