I just got my first dose of the Recombivax HB vaccine and I'm feeling a bit anxious about potential side effects. The injection site is already a bit sore, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms. I know that severe reactions are rare, but I'm still a bit nervous. Has anyone else had any noticeable side effects or allergic reactions? And if so, what did you do? Also, since I am a parent, I am wondering what to expect if my child needs this vaccine as well. Thankfully, I got plenty of information from this article: https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-biologics/vaccines/amplify-your-practice-hepatitis-b-vaccine-remember-important-details-hbv

I got my vaccine and had a high fever the next day. I wasn't sure if it was related, but I contacted the nurse. I was told that it could happen. They told me that the medicine could cause some people to experience high fever.

I don't think Recombivax will give you herpes. That would be a different thing and you would need to go to a professional for that - this is the hepatitis B vaccine. People need to be careful when they browse the internet for health information!

I remember the first time I got the Recombivax vaccine for a class in college. My arm was so sore for about a week. I asked the nurse later and she told me that the pain should fade in a few days and if it doesn't, contact the doctor right away.

For children, it's pretty straightforward. They might experience some irritability, diarrhea, or loss of appetite. Just keep an eye on them and make sure they're drinking plenty of fluids. The nurses at the doctors office will tell you the same thing when you leave. I know because they told me that last year when my son got his vaccine.

I'm not sure if this is a side effect or not, but I've been feeling some tingling in my hands since getting the vaccine. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a mild fever and some dizziness after my second dose. It was nothing serious, but it was pretty uncomfortable. Make sure to rest and hydrate well. If you experience anything serious, keep the VAERS contact page handy: https://vaers.hhs.gov/reportevent.html

Not to worry, I got mine with no issues.
