I just got my first dose of the Shingrix vaccine today. I've heard it can have some pretty intense side effects, but I'm not sure what to expect. Has anyone else gotten this vaccine and if so, what was your experience like? I'm particularly interested in hearing about any pain or discomfort at the injection site, as well as any general flu-like symptoms. I want to be prepared, so any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I got mine last week, it was the worst flu I have ever had. I thought I would have to go to the hospital. I had a fever, anger, and was aching all over. Not fun at all.

I got mine last week and felt like I had the flu for a couple days. Lots of muscle aches and fatigue.

I'm actually surprised how much worse my side effects were than the flu shot. I thought I was going to pass out at work. I recommend taking the day off after getting it.

I had a completely different experience than most people. I have had shingles before and I got this vaccine in hopes of never having to go through that again. I did not have any pain or discomfort at all. I was walking around the neighborhood the next day as if I had not even gotten the vaccine. It was crazy because I did not even feel sore when I was exercising.

Honestly, I had no idea this vaccine could cause such intense side effects. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing them, though.

I got my first dose a month ago, and I am about to go get my second. The first shot was a bit of a doozy! I was sore all over and had chills, but it was worth it. I did not have any sort of allergic reaction. I'm going to be the same age as my grandma this year and I do not want to deal with shingles at that age. I'm glad I got it.

I had no side effects after getting the vaccine. My mom got a reaction so bad that she had to go to the hospital. Everyone is different and I recommend being ready for the worst and hoping for the best.

I'm a bit worried about the Guillain-Barre syndrome side effect. Has anyone had any experience with that? I know it's rare but still...

I found the injection site was really sore and swollen for a few days. I took some Tylenol and it helped quite a bit.
