I've never had a numbing medication before and am a bit nervous. How does Chloroprocaine work exactly? Is the fast onset and quick wear-off a good thing? I've heard it can have the rare but serious side effect of Methemoglobinemia. I'm anxious about that and other urgent side effects listed. Should I be worried? Also interested in hearing about anyone's experience with the other possible side effects. Does anyone know if it's safe for those with allergies to lidocaine?

I've never had issues with this but I'm also not a medical professional. I think it's worth noting that while the side effects sound scary, many people have it without problems. I worked in a hospital for a year and saw many patients have it without issue. But always be safe and share your concerns with your doctor. They may be able to offer you something else if you're too anxious.

I had it for a minor procedure last year. Worked well, didn't feel a thing!

Methemoglobinemia is rare but serious. Make sure your medical team knows your full medical history. They can monitor your blood oxygen levels during the procedure to catch it early. Also, Nesacaine is generally considered safe for those with lidocaine allergies since it's a different class of drug. I had it and I also am allergic to lidocaine. Always best to discuss with your doctor though.

The burning sensation at the injection site is no joke. But it's quick and tolerable.

I've had it for dental work. It numbed the area perfectly, and I didn't feel any pain during the procedure. But it did take a bit longer than I expected for the numbness to go away completely. Be prepared for that.
