I've never had this dye before and I'm kind of nervous. The doctor gave me the rundown but I'm still not sure what to expect. Anyone have experience with Omnipaque 180mg/ml Inj, 10ml? How bad are the side effects? I've heard some people have really bad reactions. Is there anything I can do to prepare? Help me out, Reddit!

I've never had an issue with Omnipaque. But I think the key is to keep hydrated. I always drink a ton of water before and after.

I got this stuff for an angiogram and had a pretty bad reaction. I started to swell up and had trouble breathing. Ended up in the ER for a few hours. It was scary. I'm not sure I'd want to go through that again.

My friend got Omnipaque for a CT scan, too. She said it tasted horrible. But she didn't have any other issues.

I've had it a few times for CT scans and MRIs. It's not fun, but it's not terrible. The main side effect is a weird taste in your mouth. Some people get a warm feeling too. But seriously, if you have any kind of allergy, make sure your doctor knows. I had a friend who had a mild allergic reaction and it was scary.

The worst part for me was the dizziness. I had to take the whole day off work, just lay in bed and sleep. Plus I had some nasty headaches.

Yeah, the side effects suck. But it's worth it if you need the scan. Just listen to the doctors and nurses, they know what they're doing.

Yikes. I had a bad reaction too, swelling in my arms and legs, but for me, it came on a few hours later. At first I wasn't sure what it was, so just be aware and if symptoms come on later, go to ER if you're worried.

I had a weird tingling sensation after my Omnipaque injection in my spine. Nurse told me it happens sometimes. Not fun but not terrible.
