I've been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and my doctor has prescribed Plerixafor 24mg/1.2ml Inj to prepare me for a stem cell transplant. I'm a bit nervous about the process and the potential side effects. Has anyone here gone through this before? How was your experience with the injection and the side effects? I've read about the urgent side effects and I'm definitely keeping an eye out for those. I'm also curious about how to manage the more common side effects like nausea or trouble sleeping. I know it's important to report any issues to my doctor, but I'd also appreciate hearing from others who've been through this. What should I expect in the days leading up to the transplant? Any advice or personal stories would be greatly appreciated!

Hang in there! You're doing the right thing. Give yourself a break and rest up before and after the procedure

My advice? Contact the company's support line. They have a lot of resources and can help you navigate. I know many people who got a lot of help from them.

I was lucky and didn't have any of the serious side effects, but I did have some bad stomach pain. It was like a bad case of food poisoning, but your doctor will probably have something to help with that.

I went through this last year. The injection itself isn't too bad, just a quick pinch. The side effects weren't fun, but manageable. I had some nausea and trouble sleeping, but my doctor gave me some meds to help with that.

If you have a support system, lean on them. I needed help with just getting up and around, and it was because of the weakness.

I wish I could say it was a breeze, but it was pretty rough. I remember throwing up a lot and my head aching. But it was worth it. So, keep your chin up and stay strong

You'll feel pretty crappy, but it's for a good cause. Make sure you have someone to drive you to and from your appointments. It's hard to predict how you'll react, so it's best to have someone you can rely on. I had to postpone a few appointments because the side effects were pretty rough

This will be a very emotional journey and remember to take care of your mental health, yes, even in the midst of all the medical stuff. Stay in touch with friends and family.

I got a really bad reaction when I took it, very severe and painful, and spent a lot of time in the hospital. That said, it worked and helped my transplant a lot. It's worth it but difficult.
