I was just prescribed Baqsimi for severe hypoglycemia, and I'm looking for some advice. I have type 1 diabetes and have experienced some severe lows in the past. My doctor recommended Baqsimi as a nasal glucagon option, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. What's your experience? Does it work well? Does it hurt to spray? Are the side effects manageable? I'm especially interested in hearing about any long-term effects or tips for managing side effects. I've read through the possible side effects, but I'd love to get some real-world insights. I've asked my doctor about these, but he's not been as forthcoming as I'd like. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if you can get Baqsimi over the counter? I've had a few friends ask but I have no idea. I'm not sure if it's available to just anyone or if you need a prescription.

I've heard Baqsimi is more effective than glucagon shots so you may have an easier time with it than if you were to use a shot. I've heard of some people not liking it so much, but you just gotta see if it works for you. My diabetic friend was really happy with it and had great results.

I had bad side effects from it when I was first prescribed. I experienced some pretty severe headaches after using it. I've had issues with headaches before so it was a pretty obvious side effect for me. I do have some long term effects and I will definitely be keeping an eye on my blood pressure as it goes up.

Really? You're scared of some nasal spray? LOL! There's always a little fear with new medicines, but you'll be fine. Just do it the way your doctor said and you'll be good to go.

I had a friend who used Baqsimi and they've had great results. They did have some initial nose irritation but it went away quickly. They said it worked really well and they were happy with it. I'm glad you're being proactive and researching. It's always best to do your own research and know what to expect.

Baqsimi is great, but it did take me a bit to get used to it. The smell is pretty strong, but it's worth it. I had a bad experience with a similar nasal spray in the past, so I was a little nervous to start, but this one really works well. The first few times I used it, I did have some nose irritation, but that went away pretty quickly. I have my prescription ready, and it's been a game-changer for me.

I've been using Baqsimi for a while now and it's been a lifesaver. It's quick and easy to use, and I've never experienced any severe side effects. I even got over my fear of using it (I was worried it would hurt), and now it's just a normal part of my routine.

Baqsimi is a game-changer for anyone with type 1 diabetes. The nasal spray is easy to use and works quickly. I've had it for a while and I've never had any issues with it. It's worth a shot if your doctor recommends it. I think you'll be happy with it. It does have some side effects, but they're usually mild and go away quickly. I hope this helps! Good luck with it.

My doctor mentioned that the side effects are rare, but it's always good to be cautious. If you experience any of the urgent side effects, definitely seek medical help right away. My friend had a similar reaction to another medication and it was really scary. I love how convenient it is, but I'm glad I know to be careful about any side effects.

Definitely give it a chance. Remember, it's always best to use it as directed by your doc. You should be good as long as you use it exactly as prescribed. Some people might experience some irritation at first, but it should subside. Your doctor is right -- It raises your blood sugar really fast, and it's super convenient. I've used it a few times and it was easy to use.
