I recently had cataract surgery and have been prescribed Ketorolac 0.4% Opth Soln to help with the post-surgery pain and swelling. The doctor mentioned it works by blocking the substances that cause inflammation, but I'm curious to hear from others who have used it. What were your experiences like? Did you encounter any side effects, and if so, how did you handle them? I'm particularly interested in hearing about anyone who might have had allergic reactions or severe side effects. How quickly did symptoms ease up? Did you find the drops to be effective in reducing pain and inflammation? I want to be prepared for what to expect and want to make sure I use it safely. Any pro tips or advice is appreciated!

Make sure to keep using it for the full course even if your eye feels better. It's crucial to finish the prescription to prevent any complications. These drops can cause some blurring in your vision, so be careful when driving or operating machinery.

I've had allergic reactions to a lot of eye drops in the past, but Ketorolac didn't give me any trouble. I still had a bit of eye pain a few days after surgery, but the drops seemed to help. If you start to notice any swelling or blistering on your skin or any breathing difficulties, seek medical help ASAP.

Just be careful to wash your hands before applying the drops and make sure not to touch the tip of the bottle to your eye. Also, if you're experiencing any severe side effects, don't wait—get to the doctor right away. It's better to be safe.

It's good that you're being cautious. The drops did a great job with my inflammation, but I was disappointed that the side effects lasted for a week. The doc said that's pretty typical and I should stop panicking. I did and they stopped. But also it was really nice, so it's all good!

I had some headaches from the drops. I was told to just power through it and it should go away. It was worth it to avoid the pain from the procedure, but if you're having headaches, you may want to talk to your doc.

I've never had an allergic reaction but I'm paranoid about it. Maybe you should just stick to the Tylenol.

I had a bad reaction. Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes not. But I was ok with the little pain I had and didn't use this. Maybe I should have. Worth remembering: some of these drops can be pricey without insurance, so check your coverage.

I used these drops after my surgery and had no issues. I think the best thing is to just keep using them as prescribed and it should clear up quickly. You'll be fine and this drug is very safe.
