I just got prescribed Pentobarbital 50mg/ml Inj, 50ml for severe seizures. The doctor said it's powerful and usually given in a hospital setting. I'm really nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else been on this medication? What was your experience like? I'm specifically worried about the rare but serious side effects like breathing difficulties and allergic reactions. Any advice or tips for managing these would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

This is for sure something to be careful with, but it can be very effective. The drowsiness is like knocking you out, so be prepared for that. But seriously, if you experience any breathing difficulties, get help immediately. It's not worth the risk.

I've had experience with Pentobarbital in the ICU. It's definitely strong stuff. Make sure you're closely monitored, especially if you're getting it via injection. The nursing staff will be crucial in managing any injection site reactions.

Hope it works for you! Just follow the doctor’s instructions closely. Make sure you report any side effects right away, especially if they seem serious.

Pentobarbital can be a lifesaver in the right situations. I’ve seen it used in emergency cases to control severe seizures that don’t respond to other medications. Just make sure you’re in a monitored setting so they can adjust the dosage if needed.

I had a family member on this and it was rough, but it did the job. The drowsiness was intense but manageable. Just be prepared for the side effects.

The injection site issues are no joke. If you notice any redness, burning, or swelling, tell your nurse ASAP. They can manage it, but it’s important to catch it early.

Side effects are rough, but if it's keeping your seizures under control, it might be worth it. Just keep an eye out for any serious ones and report them right away.
