I've just been prescribed Vabomere 2gm IV for a complicated kidney infection. This is my first time dealing with such a serious antibiotic, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. I had Vabomere for a UTI that spread to my kidneys. It was intense, but it worked. I felt really sick for a few days but recovered well.
Is it true that Vabomere can cause seizures? That's terrifying.
I was on Vabomere for an abdominal infection. It was rough, but I had no major side effects. Just a bit of irritation at the injection site. I'm glad it's IV though, so it went straight to my system.
Vabomere is a combo of meropenem and vaborbactam. The vaborbactam is what makes it special—it helps the meropenem fight resistant bacteria. I'm a pharmacist, and I've seen it work miracles on tough infections. Just monitor for those rare but serious side effects and you should be fine.
