Just got Sensorcaine-Mpf 0.25%/epi Inj for my upcoming surgery. Anyone have experience with it?
I'm scheduled for a minor surgery and my doctor prescribed Sensorcaine-Mpf 0.25%/epi Inj, 30ml for local anesthesia. The medication seems straightforward enough, with bupivacaine being the numbing agent and epinephrine to prolong the effect and reduce bleeding. However, the list of possible side effects is quite extensive and concerning. I'm especially worried about the urgent ones that require immediate medical attention. Has anyone else used this? What was your experience, and should I be more worried than I am?

I had this for a minor surgery and everything went smooth. I did have some numbness for a few hours after, but it wasn't bad. Just make sure to follow all the pre-op instructions carefully. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask your doctor.
You're going to be in good hands. Anaesthetics are far safer than they used to be. I've had a bunch of different ones from the same category and honestly, it's all good. You shouldn’t have any issues.
I had an allergic reaction to a similar medication once. It was terrifying. Make sure your doctor knows your medical history. Maybe ask for a smaller dose to start with, or if there's an alternative that might work? I recommend being very proactive about this.
I had a similar local anesthetic for a procedure and felt extreme dizziness and numbness in my mouth. I was so scared, but the doctor said it's normal. The reason for the metallic taste is the way it interacts with your body. When I asked about asking for an alternative, he said that it would be pretty similar. You are definitely right to be worried, but your body will likely handle it fine.
I work in a hospital. Believe me, the side effects list covers so many rare cases. Don't stress too much. I've seen tons of people have this with no issue. You should be ok! Just follow your doctor's orders and you'll be fine.
The epinephrine can cause some anxiety if you're not used to it. Make sure to discuss any concerns with your doctor before the procedure. The side effects list is scary, but it's important to remember that severe reactions are rare. Stay calm and informed.
Bupivacaine is a strong local anesthetic. Just make sure you're not allergic to any of the ingredients. There's always a risk with any medication, unfortunately. You're not alone in feeling worried.
I had it for a dental procedure. It worked well, but I did feel a bit dizzy afterward. Nothing too bad, though.
