I just got the Flucelvax 0.5ml Quadrivalent vaccine for the 2024-2025 flu season. I've heard mixed experiences from others and wanted to share my own. The nurse said it was a painless shot, but I felt a bit weird afterward. I've been seeing a lot of side effects listed online, especially for kids, so I'm hoping to hear from others to see if I should worry or just stay hydrated waiting for any side effects. What was your experience with this year's vaccine - Flucelvax 0.5ml Quadrivalent? Any tips to help with side effects or recover?

I got mine last week and I've been feeling a bit achy, but that's normal right? I don't think I have a fever or anything. Should I just wait it out or go to the doctor? I'm a bit worried.

I hear the kids have it rougher with this one. I had to take my kid to the doctor and they said my son had some mild fever and excessive crying, but overall he was fine after a day or so. Seems like most kids get over it pretty quickly.

I've had the flu shot for years but never Flucelvax. This is the first year they're offering it at my clinic. By the way, you can report any problems to the VAERS system - https://vaers.hhs.gov/reportevent.html. They take it seriously and it might help others.

Flucelvax is made with inactivated viruses, so you won't get the flu from it. However, sometimes your body's response to the vaccine can feel a bit like the flu. Hang in there, you should feel better soon. Just make sure it's not an allergic reaction like a rash and swelling.

I got mine too, and I felt a bit dizzy, but it passed quickly. Rest up and drink lots of fluids!

If you feel any abnormal sensations like burning or tingling, call your doctor right away. My friend had a severe allergic reaction last year and it was scary, but she's fine now. Just be careful and keep an eye out for any unusual symptoms.

Wow, that sounds intense. I got mine and felt fine except for a little soreness at the injection site. Muscle pain and joint pain are common, so don't worry if you feel a bit achy. It's just your body doing its thing. Make sure you're staying hydrated and resting up.
