I recently had an MRI with Eovist 0.25mmol/ml Inj, 15ml contrast dye. The doctor said it helps to see the liver and bile ducts more clearly. I didn't experience any serious side effects, but I did feel a bit warm at the injection site. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this and can share their experience, especially if you had any of the more serious side effects like allergic reactions or kidney problems. I'd really like to know if I should be concerned about anything long-term.

Have any of you checked with the FDA about side effects? I think they keep a running list of reports. It might be worth looking into if you’re concerned. Also, I think you can submit your own experience if you feel like it.

The worst part for me was the change in taste. It was really gross, like metal in my mouth. It lasted a few hours. But it was worth it for the clear MRI results.

I experienced a severe allergic reaction to Eovist. It was terrifying; I had hives and trouble breathing. I ended up in the ER. It's rare, but it can happen. Always be cautious and have medical help nearby.

I've had Eovist a couple of times now and never had any issues at all. Just a bit of a strange feeling in my mouth. Doctors and nurses are usually great about monitoring you during the process, so you’ll be in good hands.

Side effects are always a gamble with these dyes. I've had issues with other contrast dyes in the past, but Eovist was just fine. I thnk you just have to take your chances. Stay hydrated though, that helps with the contrast.

I had a friend who got Eovist and ended up with back pain for a week. It wasn't severe, but it was annoying. Thought that was interesting. I guess every person reacts differently.

I had Eovist last year and felt a bit dizzy afterward. It wasn't too bad, but it was noticeable.

Serious side effects are rare. The doctors will always ask about allergies and make sure to monitor you. If you’re concerned, talk to them before the procedure. They are the best source of info. If something goes wrong, you’ll be in the right place to deal with it.
